Union Minister of Power Department has said that the government has included the topic of Solar Energy and hence it has given 19,500 crores to boost the Solar Sector which includes domestic solar equipment manufacturing by up to 45 gigawatts (GW), such equipment is the need for the Transition of Solar Energy.
Nirmala Sitharaman said the Budget has provided 19,500 crores to Production – linked incentive (PLI) scheme for Solar cells and Modules manufacturing domestically.
This initiative will raise the production and under the scheme of PLI now the Transition will get more strengthened. As earlier the budget was Rs. 4,500 crores and now changed to Rs. 24,000 crore, the additional increase amount of Budget will translate into creating additional energy of 45 GW in the country.
Singh also advised the government as it should move more close to the lower emission source of energy and such energy can be obtained by Solar Panels. He added “we need to do two things, first we need to produce Solar Equipment here (India) which is imported. The government has provided additional Rs. 19,500 crore for PIL fort Solar manufacturing.”
He also said that this budget will of course help to increase the production of Energy as earlier we were manufacturing only 40 GW, and now it has been changed into 45 GW. He also said that the government has increased its focus on the sector. The government of India has a goal to produce 280 GW installed solar capacity by 2030.
The minister told that the government also has been focusing on the alternative source of energy as it has also researched manufacturing and developing energy based on Hydrogen fuel.
He also revealed that the government will also bring out the battery-swapping policy and make green mobility zones.
